First Antarctic Winter climbing trip

British Antarctic Survey (BAS) run essential winter training during the Antarctic winter. This allows BAS staff to further their knowledge of survival in Antarctica. The wintering staff then become far more experienced and useful the following summer so they can help run deep field depots as they have the experience to look after themselves and others.

Here this film shows the first part of my first trip this winter with Mel the Marine biologist. Enjoy!
