Round Britain in Flexwing microlights

Well I haven’t posted a blog in a while so I thought I’d post my youtube video blog I am doing for ‘Flying for Freedom’.  A friend Miles Mallinson from Fort William is also helping out with these.  This will show our progress round the UK this year.  Flying for Freedom’s future plans are to fly the first flexwing microlight in Antarctica and fly to the south pole.  This will be a while down the line and before that we need our core pilots to get better at flying and also new pilots trained up each year.  Below are the first two films.

This is a little intro below from Kat Janes this years flight leader

Below shows a planning day with the team before we start

It has been a few months since I made my last drone showreel.  Here is my new one, I am pretty happy with it and on the first 20hrs on the Facebook upload it has had 36k views:)

My wee drone showreel

•June 26, 2015 • 2 Comments

Having owned drones for a while.  I decided I wanted to use them commercially as I could fly them well.  So just a few weeks ago my licence arrived through the post and here is a bit of footage from the last few weeks to show a little of what myself and my drone (Inspire 1) can do.  What I love about the inspire camera is it shoots amazing quality and it looks like all my other cameras.  Unlike the old drone with a go pro where the horizon and edges are all bent and distorted.  I’m very happy with it.

Heres a wee film I just popped together for Nick and Mike of the Aviemore Zip line park.  Been meaning to do it for a wee while so nice to have a couple of days to get it done.  It surpasses all previous films of the zip lines.

Deception Island Film

Here is a film I put together for the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust.  It is a about the history of Whalers Bay at Deception Island.  Deception Island probably has the most human history of any part of Antarctica.  It was a real joy to investigate this Island through books, film and people who have been there and have huge banks of knowledge of it especially Bob Barton, Stephen Dibbern, Rachel Morgan and several others, who helped a lot in the information when writing the narration.
